The One with The R Emblem

Hyrul's Pick:

Hell Above Water - Curve
Tribal War - Tyler Bates

The new Skyline R35, no wait scrap that, Nissan officially calls it the GT-R. A road-going coupe with the computing capacity which rivals most humans i know. This is not a car, just like it's predecessors it wasn't really design to compete with any rivals on the market, nope instead this was made to be a very expensive playstation. Other common traits it shares with its older brother is the magnificent all-wheel drive system, but there the similarities end, the new GT-R has a newer engine with one of the worlds most complicated turbocharger system, a trick all wheel drive system controlled by that huge IQ computer, a better weight distribution, newer suspension and loads more equipment which will put shame to a Jet Fighter.

To be honest, i've always been a fan of all GT-Rs. I love the sheer lunacy of it and it's unorthodox design and it's unbelievable potential. The old RB26 engines could be tuned to produce up to 1000BHP. Blitz Japan even made one go at 348km/h (they dubbed it R348). i also have to confess, the new GT-R is not in anyway sedated and i wont bore you with 0-100km figures, or horsepower output or torque, this car, well it's not just a new Skyline, no. This is a baby Veyron.

i don't care what you have parked in your drive-way because on the track and the open road, the new GT-R would blitz through you like your standing still. Nothing, not AMGs, not BMW Ms, not Porsches nor Ferrari. Nothing else would be this good with this price tag. Only one question lingers in my head again and again right now, "Why do you need supercars? There's just no point anymore..."

The One with No Black Tie (Unplugged)

Hyrul's Pick:

Strong Again - Mia Palencia
Superman - Mia Palencia

============================================================

There's just something about No Black Tie, Jazz Music and great singers/songwriters which brings iut a smile from within me. All the performers lined-up last night could only be entailed in one word, "Eargasmic". Zalila, Yuna, Najwa & Mia undoubtedly flipped what is usually a boring Sunday night into an event which left guests enthralled by the beauty of their lyrics, voices and harmony.

Zalila pumped up the crowd as the opening act and instantly made a connection. Her catchy tunes and on stage antics send burst of laughter from the anticipating guests. Yuna then blazed the crowd with her enchanting voice (which to me is like a cross between Hope & Corinne Bailey), her single "Backpacking in Europe" is a definite hit. Najwa's piano skills & amazing emotions flow to every corner of the venue, her songs engaging, her words empowering and her charisma infectious. Last but not least, Mia (phucking awesome) Palencia. I'm already a huge fan and constant follower, but having bestowed the honour of being one of her darling friends makes the experience more outworldly. Every one of her songs is a certain favourite, "Superman" which she describes in keeping to her current relationship, "Independence" which talks about this country, and "Strong Again" which she wrote in a week as a "pick_me_up" song for yours truly. Not to mention a few more which lyrics from other songs came as such a surprise to Dom & I because we were present when such situations actually took place. (a.k.a Lime Green Lamborghini)

People, Mia's Digital Album is out now for only RM18.00, Digital Album basically means it's an mp3 format which you can purchase cheaper due to the non-requirements of printing media and plastic casings, so just upload it to your iPods (which we all know what you're gonna do anyways) and enjoy.
